thankful.

scenes from the holiday
 wednesday night we celebrated mama's birthday with an early thanksgiving dinner + extended family.

+++
thursday we had a feast at dad's with family and friends.

some things that make my heart full with thanks:
my family, my friends, our health, technology so i can talk to family and friends near and far, a job that i love, another job that i like, food on the table, a roof over my head, clothes on my back, my creative passion, my education, coffee, the nba lockout coming to an end, my safety, and all of the love in my life.
there is always something to be thankful for.

instagram + noviembre

I'm still baffled by the fact that it is mid-late November, depending on where you stand with that.

 This month I...
got the new iphone 4s, have had many "dates" with the little broski, got a ton of scrapbooking done [more on that later], babysat more kiddos, and indulged in a holiday starbucks.

 I also...
woke up with crazy curly hair, witnessed some seriously beautiful skies, skyped with my favorite boy, picked up some awesome vintage books at goodwill [I promise that I am not a neo-nazi, I am just a huge WWII buff...], and I found some lovely head accessories for the next royal wedding.

And lastly I...
went to the Breaking Dawn midnight premiere with Liz, hung out with the J-man some more, saw even more pretty skies and sunsets, hit up the J. Crew outlet with mama, had trouble getting out of bed, and accidentally hit the "text to talk" button on my phone while ordering a Caesar salad. Big laughs all around.

fill in the blank friday.

1. My favorite new blog of the moment is: GGC. I want to be just like Rebecca when I grow up!
2. Something I am thankful for is: my wonderful family. And technology...gotta love long distance :|
3. Something that made me laugh this week: my brothers. Always. The four year old says the funniest things and the 18 + 20 year old share my sense of humor so it's good times all around.
4. An item that is currently on my wishlist is: Well, aside from my Christmas list I posted yesterday, I'd love to have unlimited flights around the world. Does that work? ;)
5. I'm excited about: scrapbooking for 7 hours tomorrow. Random, but I'll be hanging with my mama and making progress of my Germany book. It's a lovely way to wind down.
6. If I were a color I would be:  purple, dark purple.
7. My favorite way to spend a chilly fall day is by: Drinking hot chocolate and reading next to a fire.

Come link up!

it's the most wonderful time of the year...

...still talking about fall...it's only November, so still fall...

But, I'm in the gift giving spirit and while I'm enjoying getting things together for my loved ones, they in return are asking what is on my wishlist this year. After careful consideration and the haunting idea of having to blatantly ask for things [something I despise doing], I figured I'd do a blog post about it...duh.
This way now everyone can buy me everything I've always wanted!
[major joke right there...]

pretty things

my "gadget" for this year:
a Nook color

things for my toys

Crafty Things
obviously I've got a tape thing going on...

Cozies

And that's all folks.
I really don't like asking for gifts, I find more joy in giving them so I definitely have some fun things up my sleeve. But, I guess if I had to have some things, all of the above would do.

So, tell me...what's on your list this year?

all hallows eve two thousand eleven

Halloween has always been fun for me, but I can't stand spending money on a costume so I usually throw something together last minute. I worked on Saturday and Sunday, where we were allowed to dress up for our shift.
Saturday = Gypsy
Headband and top: pre-owned from H&M
Tights, shall, and jewlery were all found at the house.
The only thing I purchased were two peacock feathers for my hair: $2.99
SO, this outfit cost a mere three dolla make you holla.

Sunday = Peyton Manning
Jersey is mine, already had it.
Spandex work out capris, already had them.
Grey and blue tube socks: $3.99
So, yes this outfit was four dolla dolla bills y'all.

 Monday = Fairy
Maxi dress: you guessed it; mine.
Headband: see gypsy outfit
Wings: $5.99

I whipped out three outfits for only $13.00
Not too shabby.
+++++++++++++

On Friday, the little broseph had a Crazy Hat Day and Fall Festival at his preschool.
I was there on Big Sis and photographer duty.
The J-Man and his cute friend.
[she spoke some German with me!]

And last night, on Halloween.
We had a neighborhood parade and pizza party + trick-or-treating.
Dad + J

 Fireman + Spidergirl

J and his friend who was dressed up like a super adorable shark.

+++
We had a lovely evening.
What did you do for Halloween wherever you are in the world?
