lake taheezy

you guys, i'm trying so hard to make blogging a priority. 

i miss interacting with all of you, seriously.

so here is a small recap of our family trip to lake tahoe this past summer.

i think that we can all conclude that my family went to the lake once and otherwise lived at the golf course. this is true.

familial apples to apples [drinking] game

me getting loads of scrapbooking done

me walking, walking multiple miles down to the beach, alone, on the lookout for bears.

Yes, I am still posting about Tahoe.

I already said before...it's one of my favorite places.

While in Tahoe I went down to Kings Beach with Tucker and Mick while the rest of the family played golf. Per usual. We meandered around the small town and found some treasures in the thrift store, along with some lovey lake views.

Hipsta-Tahoe

We're in Portland right now, but I've still got some Tahoe to share.

We spent our time playing Apples to Apples, building towns with blocks, golfing, singing, dancing, beaching, and of course...eating.

happiness is...

 napping + sun + music

 beach + wiffle ball

 margaritas + colorful beach chairs

 a mommy + a peanut + sand toys

 colorful umbrellas + lake

creeping with a camera + on the verge of heat stroke brothers

well, maybe not so much...

but we're happy anyway.

I'm not a beach kind of girl.

But I love being in Lake Tahoe, sitting shore side, because of the surrounding mountains.

The snow covered peaks frame the crystal blue water, and I'm in love.

The water may be colder than a Southern California beach, the sand a bit sharper.

But the scenery is too good to pass up.

Giant redwoods and pines separate the busy road from the busy beach.

The toys of choice are speed boats, jet ski's, + paddle boards.

My drink of choice is a frozen margarita.

As per usual.

My skin is bronzed and covered in sand; my heart full.

Just the way I like it.
