sunsets, moons, and bad habits...

the sky was brilliant last night.

looking to the west you could see the sun falling, leaving behind shades of purple, pink, orange, and yellow.

to the south the sky has this glowing blue that was trying to stay as long as possible.

even though the moon had found her place in the twilight sky.

the outside air smelled like tahoe.

and a wave of nostalgia came over me, but quickly left as i hopped on the bus into the city.

day 4 of 30

a bad habit you wish you didn't have.

i think i have a few bad habits.

one would be sugar. i love sugar. and it's horrible for your body. this must stop.

my other horrible habit is that i can't seem to put my clothes away. 

one day i'll spend hours organizing my clothes in my closet, but for some reason, i can't seem to put them back when i am finished using them. need to work on that.

day 3/30...

a picture of you as a child.

i couldn't choose just one.

i think i was pretty cute...especially love that i was a little artist from the very start.

you better believe it.

don't let the sunshine deceive you though, still pretty damn cold, with the wind and all.

this little boy stayed home yesterday, and we took full advantage of the glorious weather.

we went on a lonnnnnng walk, ending at the park, and eating lunch, picnic style.

i swear, he doesn't need anything else to make him happy.

the sky was hosting brilliant shades of blue.

i love this image, since it's one stacked on top of the other, yet it could *almost* be the same picture.

my favorite weather is gloomy, grey, & rainy.

but this weather, right now...it's my second favorite.

in other news...

family bowling took place last sunday.

 daniela and elias up to bat...er...bowl, i guess.

it's a lot different than bowling back in california, but it's fun.

you keep score yourself, and there are tons of different games to play and objectives to fulfill.

in this shot, if you look allll the way to the right, you'll see a 9...with balloons.

yep, that was me. back home we call that a strike.

boo-yah.

day number two/thirty:

the meaning behind your blog name?

once upon a time i had an advanced art class in high school.

we had to present a portfolio of work, which included a website.

of course the website was made up.

mine was: see-hayley-paint.com

(not sure if it really exists)

anyway, that stuck with me and my etsy profile is under that name, although i have never set up my shop...again, don't judge.

and now that i am off traveling the world, see.hay.fly seemed appropriate and was created. 

plus it's symmetrical in it's lettering, which is a plus.

1. my nails are painted 95% of the time. i have 16 different colors here in germany alone and i can't stand chipped nails on myself, or others.

2. i'm super crafty.

3. i collect art books, postcards, & the above stated nail polish.

4. i can still do the splits.

5. i speak english, spanish, & a little bit of german. next up: arabic.

6. i'm going to be a high school english and art history teacher someday soon.

7. i despise typing with appropriate uppercase letters on the internet.

8. i can make the four leaf clover with my tongue.

9. my favorite city in the whole wide world is portland, oregon.

10. my favorite actress is ellen pompeo. my favorite actor is mark wahlberg.
