about

hey friends.
i'm hayley.

once upon a time, i spent a year abroad in the beautiful country of germany, living as an au pair. i became even more obsessed with travel, culture, and the world than i was before and had a nervous break down when i came back home, to northern california.
of course i met a boy, and still constantly think german is my main language, so i'm back in california teaching preschool +saving like mad to make the permanent move to germany.

i started see.hay.fly as a place to document my experience living abroad, and to keep friends and family up to date on my life on the other side of the world, but now it's become a large part of my everyday life.
here you'll find things full of color, adventure, happiness, and lovely people, places, and things.
come join me!

i'm also addicted to margaritas, maps, + camera apps.

this pretty much sums it up.

  1. I don't know how I haven't stumbled upon your blog yet but I, too, am a California girl working as an au pair in Germany too. :) I'm based in Munich and will be heading back to California in June. I love your blog! Check out mine, too.
